MIT LunaRecycle Team: Team CERBERUZ

Composites for Extraterrestrial Recycling By Engineering the Reuse and Upcycling of Zotek — is a concept developed by an MIT student team developing a recycling and manufacturing system for long-duration lunar and deep space missions. Winners of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of NASA's LunaRecycle Challenge and awarded $150,000, CERBERUZ transforms hard-to-recycle logistics waste, including foam, plastics, and metals, into thermoplastic composite materials and additive manufacturing feedstock using injection molding, filament extrusion. The team is now advancing to the finals in August, where they will demonstrate their prototype and digital twin solutions in front of NASA's judges.
